Miss Shelby’s First Book: Z-Day and You

She’s cute, she’s talented and her feet are famous on the Internet. Yes, Miss Shelby sure has a lot of things going for her and now she can add one more accolade to that list: published illustrator! Presenting Z-Day and You: Or How I Learned to Love the Taste of Human Flesh. It’s half zombie survival guide and half brain eating tutorial, merged together into one cutesy book.

It’s never too young to teach the young ones how best to protect themselves from the living dead!

Do check it out and support her undead arts or Munny habits. The two of us have already started talking about her next project which should yield some fairly awesome results. It may be starring a certain favorite puppy of ours.

Team Fortress, Go Meat

Despite owning The Orange Box, I never really got into Team Fortress 2. It might have something to do with the grudge I hold towards it stealing $5 bucks from me back in middle school (I pre-ordered TF2: Brotherhood of Arms at a Software Ect that eventually went belly up), but I doubt it. Valve’s knack for infusing more personality into inanimate objects than most human figures continues with Heavy’s new tool, the sandwich.

I now want to play Team Fortress 2 because of a sandwich. Well, that the Heavy’s nom-nom-noming of his lunch reminds me of Scooter with a bag of a chips. Is that a new class I just stumbled upon?

I’m Terrible

Not that I like dragging old memes through the hate machine known as the Internet, but my friends at Destructoid are looking for your take on this classic scenario and I aim to please. That and there was nothing on TV. Apparently, USA ran out of episodes of Law & Order: SVU for me to watch.

Keep the Car Running

I hope you weren’t as shocked as I was, because I totally thought I was going to Vegas that morning! I’d like to thank everyone for their kindness this week. We had an amazing team in our little office and at the very least, it’s nice to know that everyone was rooting for us.

So what’s next? Well, I don’t want to become a stay-at-home mom for our pets, so I’m hoping to get back on my feet as soon as possible. Will that mean freelancing? I’m not sure, but my ol’ boss and good friend, Chris Grant, did me a favor and [edited: lol nevermind].

I’m going to try and take it easy for the next few days, clear my head and figure out where to go from here. I have some personal stuff I can catch up on and I’ll try not to spend my days achievement whoring or pick up a new MMORPG. I love what I do for a living and I intend to keep on keepin’ on. Again, thanks to everyone for their support.

The New Hotness

top_chief_newplace.jpg

I’m finding it difficult to describe precisely how stoked I am about my new apartment. Imagine you’ve gone from having your junk dipped in a deep frier every day to instead getting Cold Stone ice cream served to you by unicorns. The move has successful cut my commuting time from two hours to five minutes and I’m telling you, this ice cream is delicious.

As far as I can tell, everything is in a much more normalized state that it was say, a week ago. I was in Atlanta, my girlfriend was left to fend for herself with no Internet and worse yet, we didn’t have a couch. An entire season of Dexter was watched upon the floor and consoles went untouched. I never realized how important that cushioned throne is for a home.

Well, now that we’ve got everything setup for the most part, I’d like to give you folks a peek. Pardon the awful cording job. There’s a trip to OSH in my near future.

Catching Up

I don’t think I can properly convey how guilty I feel for not keeping this updated, so I’ll just go ahead and skip the apologizing. I suck and I know it. Here’s a brief update on what’s going on.

- Game Developers Conference was this week and was fabulous as usual. I met a ton of awesome people, managed to party hard and played more Street Fighter IV than anyone who doesn’t actually work at Capcom. This will be leading into five days worth of Street Fighter IV coverage that should begin tomorrow at GameTap.

- What happened to No Country for Old Arcades? The Arcade Infinity article keeps getting delayed both by the gods of scheduling and by my own hand. If it’s not up by next week, I’ll hang myself.

- Dude, I think that’s it.

To be honest, the personal life has been getting more attention than the professional life, but I think the balance is back. Weirdness, my friends. Weirdness.
